The road to success for today’s youth is filled with lots of hurdles, many challenges, several bumps, bruises and all the NECESSARY obstacles that will help mold, shape, guide and help build Educated, Productive, Positive and Law Abiding citizens. It’s a constant uphill battle and downhill fight for our young people. This is the war that all of America wants our youth to face and conquer successfully.

It is impossible to expect positive results from our young people when they lack direction, responsibility and accountability. Let’s not get it backwards! We have some outstanding parents/guardians and some of their children have chosen to ‘go against the grain’ and have refused to abide by rules, regulations and guidelines because they want to fit in.

On the other hand, we have some major issues and concerns with our dysfunctional youth who have decided to make up their own value system as they live life to the fullest! It is very important to know that if the GPS in our children, has not been programmed properly, then don’t expect a ‘FINAL DESTINATION’. BECAUSE THERE ISN’T ONE!

Some of our people are approaching society with their sights set on a non-stop roller coaster ride. The highs and lows from a carefree ride have them headed down a road that is filled with turmoil and destruction. It’s a “Shoot ‘Em Up, Bang-Bang” experience that they are looking for and they will find it!

Our new generation of youth, are stuck on the, “I Don’t Care” attitude. When asked about school or an education, the response has been in numerous cases, “it takes too long”, or they feel it requires too much work and discipline. The decisions to use drugs, commit violent crimes, drop out/skip school, have casual sex, and demonstrate out of control behaviors are justified by saying, “Everyone is doing it. What’s the big deal?”

These types of careless behaviors and choices are a reflection of not having the right direction instilled in them early in life. This in turn has our youth playing Russian roulette (A Death Wish Game). When the game is over or the ride has ended, America is left dealing with senseless funerals, poor work ethics, horrible attitudes, lack of discipline, concern for others/themselves, no desire to want more in life and an overall “bring nothing” to the table performance.

As responsible adults we have to hold each other accountable for our actions and monitor the decisions we make daily because we are being watched by our young people. They want to succeed and make better choices but if we keep taking for granted that our actions speak louder than words, then don’t expect a CHANGE in today’s youth. It will get worse and let’s pray that never happens.

To all my readers, have an outstanding week and

BE ENCOURAGED!
